This morning I received a great note about the upcoming cold weather this weekend and your home/landscape from the landscape company I use, Grazing Goats Lawn Care. Below are some great pointers for keeping your lawn safe from the chilly weather ahead:
We have some cooler weather ahead of us over the next few days. Temperatures in the 30's scheduled for 3 nights. Most of our Florida friendly plants are susceptible to these cooler temperatures, so to ensure their safety it is best to try and cover anything that you are able to cover.
Tall trees and palms can also be wrapped at their root base for protection if you are unable to cover an entire tree. Blankets, sheets, plastic, burlap, basically anything that works as a covering will suffice. During the day, it is best to uncover if you are using plastic or we have some sunshine. If using 'breathable' coverings, you may also simply keep them covered for the few days. Make sure to water properly and as always, feed all plants to encourage flowers, health, and growth.
