      Be Safe – Hurricane Idalia

      Dear Friends,

I hope everyone is doing well! I am closely monitoring the storm that is now a hurricane out in the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane Idalia is expected to parallel the gulf coast where we are expected to begin feeling its effects later today and into Wednesday.

In an abundance of caution, Manatee and Sarasota County announced yesterday mandatory evacuation orders for coastal areas (Zone A-all barrier islands and areas near the Manatee River). Shelters are now open, and our schools are closed.    Our office will be closing today at 2pm to through Wednesday. We will reopen on Thursday, however I’m just a phone call, text or email away.

Here is a link to the First Alert Hurricane Guide from our Local ABC 7 News Station which has important tips and information for our three County area: Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte. http://intranet.michaelsaunders.com/worddocs/FirstAlertHurricaneGuide.pdf - it will open as a PDF

If you want to continue to closely monitor the track of Idalia, please visit the National Hurricane Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

Stay safe! I will continue to update you.
