New Preschool Coming to Lakewood Ranch: KLA Schools Set to Open on Lorraine Road
Lakewood Ranch continues to grow, and with that growth comes even more options for local families. One of the newest additions to the community is KLA Schools of Lakewood Ranch, a new early childhood education center coming to Lorraine Road.
The new school is located at 5725 Lorraine Road in Bradenton, in the heart of the growing Lakewood Ranch area. KLA Schools broke ground on the campus in January 2026 and plans to welcome families for the 2026–2027 school year.
What Is KLA Schools?
KLA Schools is a network of early childhood education centers with an educational program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
Rather than relying solely on traditional classroom instruction, the approach encourages children to learn through curiosity, exploration, creativity and hands-on experiences. Teachers serve as guides and collaborators, helping children investigate their interests while developing important academic, social and emotional skills.
The new KLA Schools of Lakewood Ranch location will offer programs for children from infancy through age four, including infants, toddlers, two-year-olds, three-year-olds and four-year-olds.
A New 12,000-Square-Foot Campus
This won't be a small preschool facility.
The approximately 12,000-square-foot campus is being designed to accommodate as many as 200 children and will feature 10 classrooms, with two classrooms planned for each age group.
Plans for the school also include an art room, a dedicated light-and-shadow room and approximately 7,000 square feet of outdoor space divided between two playground areas for younger and older children.
The spaces are being intentionally designed around the school's learning philosophy, with natural light, creative materials and areas that encourage children to explore and interact with their surroundings.
Another Sign of Lakewood Ranch's Continued Growth
For those of us who live and work in the area, it's no secret that Lakewood Ranch has experienced tremendous growth. New neighborhoods, businesses, restaurants, healthcare facilities and schools continue to follow as more families choose to call the area home.
The arrival of KLA Schools is another example of the services developing alongside that residential growth.
For families considering a move to Lakewood Ranch, access to education and childcare can be an important part of deciding where to live. The new KLA location adds another early-learning option for families not only in Lakewood Ranch, but also in surrounding areas including Sarasota, Bradenton, Fruitville, Braden River, University Park and Ellenton.
When Will KLA Schools of Lakewood Ranch Open?
KLA Schools' official website says the Lakewood Ranch location is opening for the 2026–2027 school year. Local reporting earlier this year indicated that the school was targeting a September opening.
The school is already accepting enrollment inquiries and offering what it calls “Founding Family Benefits.” According to its admissions page, families who enroll before the official opening may qualify for special first-year tuition savings, subject to availability.
